Set amongst the crumbling stone of a reclaimed Cornish engine house, beneath its sunken tin-roofed wedding pavilion, comes this springtime elopement. The Stack dates back to the 19th century and offers glimpses into its ancient mining heritage in every preserved detail of its Grade-II listed bones. For couples in search of a destination more unique, the modern-rustic venue is intimate enough for the smallest of weddings, hosting up to 40 guests within its majestic gardens overlooking the Fal Valley. This weekend, it was simply George and Georgina, featuring in an editorial shoot by Vaxa Retreats.

The Stack

Desaturated décor included cubic ceramics, delicate white anemones and blackened foliage, crafted by Devon florists From the Wild. Harder stone and concrete elements were offset by elegant dresses from The Fall Bride; contemporary in design with romantic flowing skirts and sleeves so voluminous you could catch flight.

In contrast, honeymoon venue The Hide provided a sleek, modern backdrop for the continued celebrations. Clean concrete and crumpled bed linen lent a calming ambiance for the pre-wedding preparations, as well as a romantic retreat following the reception, enveloping the couple in the melodic birdsong only newlyweds know.
